WELCOME TO PIXIE BOB NEWS DOT COM

The goal of the Pixie Bob breeding program is to create a domestic cat with a visual similarity to the North American Bobcat. This wild look does not reflect the true nature of the cat, which is loving, trustworthy, and tractable. The Pixie Bob comes in the shorthair and longhair varieties. The Pixie Bob has an inverted pear-shaped head, heavily hooded eyes, strong muzzle and chin. Strong heavy muscular body with substantial boning, like the North American Bobcat. Females are proportionately smaller than the males.

Why the Pixie bobs needs a Good list

Our list is for both Pixie Bob Breeders and persons who shows or owns a Pixie Bobs.  We encourage camaraderie within the group via this list, we hope persons will learn from each other, be encouraged to combine lines in order to bring the breed into a more consistent type in ALL regions. It can be a place where breeders/show persons can work out disagreements or agree to disagree so that all can work together in order to advance the breed within TICA. This is for those working in TICA only. Members need to be in good standing with TICA and in favorable agreement with TICA. We invite feedback, critique of photos, and avid discussions to share information with each other on genetics, latest litters, and any information that will help each other become better informed breeders and/or show persons.

Background

The Pixie-Bob breed was accepted into TICA as "new breed and color" in 1995, and for Championship status in 1997. Although the TICA standard cites the resemblance to the American Bobcat, the founding committee is adamant that no "captive" American Bobcats be used in any  breeding  program.
